Your terrain is the ecology of your body!
Think of your terrain as a fish tank. In a fish tank you will see fish, gravel, feces, and food. Each fish tank has a filter which acts as the tank’s Primary Emunctory. If the filter is not working properly, the fish tank becomes out of balance. When this happens, what do you see? Cloudy water, growth of bacteria, odor, excess algae, sick or even worse, dead fish.
So, what happens if there are imbalances in the human terrain?
The human terrain is made up of cells, fluid (mostly water), microbiome, and toxins. Your microbiome consists of 4 categories:
- Bacteria
- Parasites
- Fungi
- Viruses
They all serve a purpose when in balance!
Fluids are exchanged with the cells. When emunctories are not functioning properly, the cells and terrain become burdened.
What are Emunctories?
Emunctories are organs with a function that involves draining and removing waste materials from the body or an organ or duct that carries waste from the body.

- Kidneys
- Colon
- Lungs
Living in a toxic world and being exposed daily to toxins through the foods we eat, the products we use, and pathogens we are exposed to, our Primary Emunctories have a tough job and become stressed and strained. This results in an increase in mental and physical health symptoms and more pressure on our Secondary Emunctories.

- Prostate
So, what are the signs that your Secondary Emunctories are not functioning properly?

- Sinus Infections
- UTI’s, Bladder Issues
- Yeast Infections
When Secondary Emunctories are treated with antibiotics and steroids, the body is unable to effectively excrete the toxins and waste. As a result, the terrain issue at hand is not being addressed properly.
